Ruth E. Walbert, 90 years, of Virginia, IL and formerly of rural Arenzville, IL died Sunday morning, February 25, 2007 at her residence.
She was born September 11, 1916 in Cass County, IL; the daughter of Clarence and Belle Williams Osborne. She married R. Glenn “Red” Walbert on December 15, 1937 in Davenport, IA and he preceded in death on November 12, 1993.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Lee Coffey of Virginia; a son, Kenneth Ray Walbert (wife, Mary) of Shreveport, LA; 10 grandchildren, Jimmy Walbert and Rita Niegenfind (husband, Randy) ,all of Wichita, KS, Wes Cooksey, Laura McCoy (husband, Ken), and Kendra Coffey, all of Virginia, Daniel Walbert of New Braunfels, TX, Timothy Walbert of New Orleans, LA, Jeremy Walbert of Tower Hill, and Shawna Walbert and Emily Anders (husband, Rock), all of Quincy; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Rita Jo Walbert; two sons, James Robert Walbert and Wayne Eugene Walbert; a grandson, Kelly Walbert; a brother, Raymond Osborne; and a sister, Ruby Hoots.
Mrs. Walbert was a 1936 graduate of Jacksonville High School and a homemaker. She was a member of Liter Baptist Church in Literberry and the Baptist Ladies Aid.
