Ruth Cook, age 102, a lifetime resident of Rensselaer, passed away December 26, 2010 at the Rensselaer Care Center. Ruth was born in McCoysburg, Indiana on November 12, 1908 to Russell William and Lena Wilhelmina (Ringeisen) Willits. Ruth was raised in McCoysburg and attended the Jasper County schools.
She was affiliated with the McCoysburg Methodist Church and the Trinity United Methodist Church in Rensselaer. On January 22, 1927, in Crown Point, Indiana she married Scott Cook who passed away March 7, 1977. Ruth was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed making rag rugs and vegetable and flower gardening. She is survived by her children, Jeanette Pickett, Crawfordsville, IN and Scott E. Cook, Rensselaer, IN; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Janet Willits, Rensselaer, IN.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sister’s, Margaret Maxwell and Mildred Sedan and a brother, William R. Willits.
