She moved to Bloomington in 1966 where she owned a typing service and copying business. Ruth loved dealing in antiques, working with people and was also a Realtor.
Ruth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. In the late ‘70’s and early 80’s in a 4 year span she was a foster parent to 11 children. Ruth was also a Registered Nurse having graduated from the New England Baptist Hospital and had worked for Public Health Nursing.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 27 years, Terry Carpenter of Bloomington, daughters, Monique Rundell of Clearwater, FL and Jeannette Hill of Salt Lake City, UT, and son Edward M. Clinch (Jennifer) of Sterling, VA. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren; Sydney, Riley, Amanda, Lorinda, Sarah, Naomi, Rebecca, Journay, Madhya, Edmund, Kaleel, and Belen, and her siblings Mary Ellen Hendrickson, Bill McWilliams, Alma Oglishen and Jeannette Rielly, all of Massachusetts.
