She had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 1950, coming from Grand Rapids. Ruth enjoyed golfing, bowling, and painting china.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters. On August 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to Jack L. Van Dyke who survives. Also surviving, 3 children, Jack Glenda Van Dyke of Lansing, MI, Mark Patricia Van Dyke of Mattawan, and Terry Margie Van Dyke of Salisbury, MD; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lottie Kerkstra of Wyoming, MI; a brother, Walter Dorothy Butkiewicz of Wyoming, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
