Ruth C. Burkey, age 99, of Columbiana, entered into rest at 9:39 p.m. Sunday, May 4, 2014 at the Salem Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born February 7, 1915 in Enon Valley, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Willie and Mae (Russell) Klepfer. Ruth attended the Sugar Valley One Room School House and was a member of the Grace Church in Columbiana. She retired from the Dietary Department of the Salem Community Hospital and enjoyed traveling, quilting and playing cards. Survivors include two sons, John Burkey of Salem and H. William (Cindy) Burkey of Warren; two daughters, Betty R. (Walter) Burkey of Columbiana and Eileen (Daniel) Koluskey of North Canton; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren. A son, Bobby Burkey and a brother, Harold Klepfer also preceded her in death.
