Ruth E. Brockway, 72, of Galien, Michigan died Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Michigan. Ruth was born August 8, 1938 in Galien to Francis and Bessie (Gray) Bennitt. She grew up in Galien and graduated from Galien High School in 1957.

On Sept. 6, 1958 she married Roger Brockway at the Olive Branch Church in Galien. Ruth was employed at Dr. O’Malley’s Medical Clinic in Galien for many years. She cared for her home and family and enjoyed crocheting, making craft projects, and cooking. She was a member of the Olive Branch United Methodist Church and enjoyed the fellowship of the Sonja Circle Ladies Aid. Ruth liked antique cars and was a member of the Model A Ford Club of Lawton, Michigan. She loved spending time with family and friends and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Brockway; sons, Roger and wife Debra of Avon, Indiana and Raymond and wife Diana of St. Joseph, Michigan; grandchildren, Christina, Joseph, Matthew and Katie; great grandchildren, Britney, Brooke, Baily, Brandon and Bella; sister, Shirley and husband Don Peterson of Buchanan, Michigan and brothers, Robert Bennitt of New Troy, Michigan and Gerold Bennitt of Palm Bay, Florida.
