Mrs. Ruth Ann Greenhill Gilbert, age 77, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Ernest Greenhill and Terrance Gilbert, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2010 at Bridgeport Hospital.
Born on December 5, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Helen Jursik Carlson. A former president of the Bridgeport Art League, a position she held twice, she was also past president of the Historical Society of Early American Decoration,(HSEAD) and the Charter Oak Chapter of Early American Decoration. Ruth Ann was also a member of the American Folk Art Museum in New York and a self-employed Art Teacher. She designed and decorated the Christmas ornaments for the White House under the Reagan Administration. She was also a computer enthusiast and enjoyed making jewelry and quilting.
Survivors include her devoted children, Gail Sostilio and her husband Nick of Milford, Eric L. Greenhill and his wife Sue of South Windsor, CT, Sharon Verbeek and her husband Rennie of Massachusetts, Dorine Donovan and her husband Marty of Naugatuck, ten grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha, and Kaylee Sostilio, Timothy and Lisa Greenhill, Peter, Michael, and Stephen Verbeek, Tracy Hall and Sarah Donovan, a great grandson, Tyler Hall, and her beloved dog, E.T. She also leaves sister, Arlene Carlson of Shelton and a brother, Harold Carlson of Sterling, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
