Ruth Ann Berghammer, age 82, of Vesper, WI, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 26, 2022 at St Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield after a short battle with lymphoma.
Ruth was born on July 23, 1940, in Phillips, WI, to Edward and Clara Gunia. She married the love of her life, Jim Berghammer, on November 24, 1955. They were blessed with three children: Christine, Suzann, and Randall. Ruth and Jim were farmers, first in Spencer, WI, then in Arpin, WI. Her grandchildren have particularly fond memories of the Morning Side of the Hill farm, riding golf carts and having fun. Upon retiring, Ruth and Jim moved to Hayward, WI, and she worked in the garden center in Wal-Mart. She always loved being “up north.”
Ruth was an animal lover and an avid equestrian. She and Jim rode motorcycles and belonged to Lauby Riders Club. She was a movie buff and owned hundreds of VHS tapes.
Ruth is survived by her daughter Suzann Lubeck (Jeremy Bennett); her son, Randall (Michelle); grandchildren: Jeremy Linzmaier (Nikki Berg), Aron Hodge, April (Andy) Pierson, Candice (Chad) Herman, Adam Lubeck (Casey Ligman-Domine), Holly Rosplock (Brandon Whitney), Heather Berghammer (Josh Dvoran), and Jesse Berghammer (Kate Sobczak); and 13 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; daughter, Christine Rennhack; and brother, Clarence Gunia.
The family will be having a private celebration of Ruth’s life.
