Ruth attended Muncie Central High School and married the love of her life, Lloyd Atkins and they were married in 1941 and he preceded her in death in 1999. Mrs. Atkins had been a homemaker most of her adult life and had also worked for Ross Supermarket in the house wares, clothing and laundry departments. She loved taking care of her family and bowling at the Liberty Bowl on various leagues. Ruth enjoyed Elvis music as well.
Survivors include one daughter, Shirley Terry, Muncie; two sons, Jerry Atkins (wife-Sherry), Frostproof, Florida and Lloyd W. “Buster” Atkins (wife-Carolyn), Frostproof ,Florida; seven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; one sister, Joanne Quinton (husband-Arnold), Bluffton; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband of 58 years, Lloyd Atkins, she is preceded in death by her parents; four sisters and three brothers.
