Russell W. Hultberg, TSgt, USAF (Ret.) 47, passed away unexpectedly on the evening of February 7, 2020. Russell was born to Lloyd and Nancy Hultberg in 1972 in Great Falls, MT. He grew up in the Tri-Cities area of Washington State enjoying many wonderful outdoors adventures and hobbies with his family. From a former marriage Russell had two children, Savannah Hallstrom (nee Hultberg) and Christian Hultberg. Russell joined the United States Air Force in 1998. He deployed many times overseas over the course of his career. In 2008, during his stationing at Patrick AFB, he married Melissa Hultberg (nee Rood). They had three children together Charlotte, Vivianne, and Emily. Before and throughout his military career Russell was a man of vast knowledge and talents. He enjoyed many outdoor activities such as camping, four wheeling and motorcycle riding. His hobbies included but were not limited to woodworking, shooting, and numerous projects he started but never finished. Russell was the consummate Airman from the time he was young until his final breath. If he called you friend you were family and he dropped everything to help his family at a moment’s notice. Stories of his selflessness are numerous and span his entire lifetime. He had a unique sense of humor that was often inappropriate but always got the shock value and laughter he was going for. His fireside and drinking stories always brought tears of laughter to all who listened.
Russell is survived by his parents Lloyd and Nancy, his wife of 11 years Melissa, his children Savannah, Christian, Charlotte, Vivianne, and Emily, and his grandchildren Monroe, Sawyer, and Finn. He is also survived by his sisters, Sheila and Aimee and father-in-law as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
