Russell Scott “Russ” Norton, age 43, passed away on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell, Montana with his loving family at his bedside. He was born on May 25, 1966 in Kalispell, Montana the son of George and Romona (Bartel) Norton.
Russell attended Flathead High School and received his diploma in 1984. He served for a brief period of time in the U.S. Army at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri; and returned to civilian life in Kalispell.
Russ worked on Christmas Tree Farms for a number of years and later had his own business, “Norton Contractors”.
He was affectionately called “Fluffy” during his childhood and the name stuck with him into his early adult life. Russ spent many fun filled hours with his brother, sisters, nieces and nephews, enjoying the care free days of childhood. He also enjoyed swimming with his friends in the Stillwater River on hot summer days and ice skating on the pond in the winter.
He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three nephews and his best friends, Steve Adkins and Daren Corrigeaux.
He is survived by his brothers, Douglas Williams and wife Bobbi, Wayne Williams and wife Emily and Harvey Norton; his sisters, Audrey Flansaas and husband Dean, Geraldine Smith, Sharon Jordt and husband Kevin, and Donna Bear and husband Mike; he is also survived by his very special nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
