Russell Lillyblade, 84, of Fortville, passed away Friday, May 8, 2009. He was born August 30, 1924 in Brazil, IN to the late Russell Sr. and Maggie (Warren) Lillyblade. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran and worked in civil service for over 28 years before retiring from Fort Benjamin Harrison in 1972.
Mr. Lillyblade was a member and Past Master of the Fortville F&AM No. 207; member and Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star No. 149; the Murat Shrine; the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis; a charter member of the Fortville VFW Post 6904; and member of Disable American Veterans. He is survived by his wife, Carol (Garrigus) Lillyblade; son, Paul W. (Carol) Lillyblade of McCordsville; daughters: Kay I. Lillyblade and Wanda J. Lillyblade, both of Fortville; and granddaughters: Carrie (Rick) Griffin and Jody Lillyblade, both of Greenfield. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles H. Lillyblade.
