Russell E. Carter, 78, of Bristol, husband of Carol (Kaczmarczyk) Carter, died Wednesday, December 26, 2007, at Sheriden Woods Health Care. Russell was born November 25, 1929, in Bristol, a son of the late Benjamin and Mary (Byrd) Carter.
Russell was employed by the former New Departure Hyatt in Bristol until his retirement. He was a coach for Edgewood Little League for 40 years. Russell was a US Army Veteran during the Korean War serving in Germany. He was a member of the American Legion.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, David Kevin Carter and his wife Patricia of Terryville, and Richard Carter and his wife Laura of Bristol, two sisters, Shirley McMahon, and Marilyn Dormody both of Bristol, four grandchildren, Kirsten and Brandon Carter of Terryville, and Adam and Katherine Carter of Bristol, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Chelsea Carter, and a brother, Gordon Carter.
