Russell Duane Redding, 63, of Kellogg died on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center.
Russell, the son of Francis and Connie (Smith) Redding, was born on June 25, 1958, in Grinnell. He was recently retired after working as a semi-truck driver for around 40 years. Russell lived in California for most of his life but moved back to Iowa after his retirement. Russell enjoyed watching car and motorcycle racing and all types of sports, particularly football and baseball.
Russell is survived by his children, Reve Pichardo of Fallon, Nevada, Joseph Skates of Medford, Oregon, and Christopher Schumacher of Reno, Nevada; mother, Connie Skates; brothers, Roger Redding of Utah, Rodney Skates of California, and Randal Skates of California; aunts, Joan Olson of Grinnell and Carol Pickett of Ankeny; and uncles, Ray Hunter of Kellogg and Bob Hunter of Searsboro. He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Redding and step-father, Tom Skates.
