The world lost the best husband, father, and father-in-law on December 29, 2015. Russ was born in Fillmore, Utah on October 28, 1953 to Helen Colleen (Russell) and Phil Barret Day. He later moved to Nampa, Idaho where he met his wife, JoAnn Hastriter. Russ and JoAnn married in 1972 and later had their only daughter, Donna.
Russ was a loving family man who loved his wife, daughter, brothers and son-in-law. Russ worked 43 plus years at Amalgamated Sugar Company and had recently retired. Russ was an amazing father who had the biggest heart and would often appear tough to people who didn’t know him but he was actually a big teddy bear. Russ loved cars, fishing, shooting at the range, telling jokes and just being outside enjoying his property at the Lazy Day Ranch in Greenleaf.
Russ leaves behind his wife, JoAnn Day; daughter and son-in-law, Donna & Sterling Davie; brothers and sisters-in-law, Byron & Jan Day, Jerry & Lou Day, Wes & Martha Day, Vaughn & Gina Day, and Les Quintana.
Russ was preceded in death by his mother, Colleen Quintana; father, Phil Day; brother, Kevin Day; and sister, Cynthia Day.
Russ was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
