Russell B. Hoefle, 85, of Freeport, died Sunday, January 29, 2006, at his home.
Born August 18, 1920 in Freeport he was the son of John and Maggie (Boos) Hoefle. He married Maevis C. Covington September 28, 1942 in Pinebluff, Arkansas and she preceded him in death on October 5, 1996.
Russell graduated from Freeport High School class of 1938. He was maintenance supervisor at St. Vincent’s for 37 years retiring in 1994. He was a World II Army Veteran and a member of St. John United Church of Christ.
Surviving are his sons, Tim (Cathy) Hoefle of Freeport and Richard (Leslie) Hoefle of Rosemont, MN; one daughter, Susan (James) Saladino of Loves Park; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Minnie Boyer of CA and long time good friend and adopted son Matt Katalinich of Michigan. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one grandson Alex; 4 sisters and 7 brothers.
