Rupert “Jack” Logan passed away peacefully on December 1, 2014. Dad was born September 23, 1928 to Rupert Scott Logan and Helen Grace Logan. September 23rd was a special day in his family. It was his mother’s birthday; his birthday; grandson, Matt’s; and great grandchildren, Alexandra and Cameron’s birthdays.
Dad had 4 brothers, Bob, Keith, Monte and George and 2 sisters, Maxine and Jean. He had 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two brothers, a daughter, and 1 great grandson.
Dad grew up in Boise and graduated from Boise High School in 1947. He married the love of his life, Mary, on January 1, 1948. Together they had 5 children, Kathy, Nancy Shark (Alan), Barbara Versoi, David Logan (Diana), and Linda Kash (Tom).
Dad was best known as a Boise businessman for various restaurants he owned and operated which included J’s Steak Village and Hill Top Café. He loved the outdoors. He was an avid fisherman, hunter woodcutter and gardener. He would drive for hours just for the chance to drown a worm. He always had a great story to tell and the stories about the Logan boys were especially entertaining.
