Rufus Green was born April 18, 1949, in Columbia, South Carolina, the son of Helen Mae Richardson Bracy and James Green. Rufus was reared in the home and Gonzales Sr. He departed this life on Thursday, September 28, 2023.
“Country Boy” as he was affectionately called by family and friends, enjoyed being around family and friends. His purpose here on earth was to demonstrate to his family and friends that being different didn’t mean being less. His larger mission in life was for family and friends to go forth and share that message with others.
Though he is physically gone from us, Rufus has left a legacy of love to everyone who knew him.
Rufus was preceded in death by Gonazles and Helen Bracy, James and Lessie Green, Carolyn Bracy Peoples and Gonzales Bracy Jr.
Those who are cherishing his memories are his siblings, Gloria Jean Green Barber, Anthony (Valarie) Bracy, David Bracy, Johnathan Bracy, Terry Bracy, Linda Green (Morris) Gibson, Willie J. Barber his special brother-in-law; uncles, William (Cassanova) Richardson; aunts, Willie Mae Smith, and Iren Rankins; loving nephews, and nieces, and other loving and dear friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
