Rudy Fife was born July 1, 1960 in Washington, D.C. He was the first born child to Murray Roy Fife and was raised in a loving home by his grandparents Jesse and Ester Fife. “Lil’ Rudy” as he was affectionately called by everyone, was loved by all.
His love for motorcycles began at a very early age with his 1st bike, a Honda 750, this sparked the beginning of his life and love on two wheels.
Rudy moved to Colorado in the early 90’s, and that is when he discovered ” Bandimere Speedway.” Over the years his racing brought him much joy, and plenty of winner trophies. Rudy 1st major big win was “The night of Fire and Thunder” in 2004 at Bandimere Speedway, this was his 1st Wally trophy. Rudy went on to win numerous races at Bandimere, with his 2nd Wally to come from Great Bend, Kansas in 2015.
On September 8th, 2013 at a race called the “Motorcycle Challenge”, he met the love of his life and wife, Marva, this was the one day of racing that Rudy had given up. From that day forward they became a team. He would often tell her to stop “reading my mail” because she could finish his thoughts and his sentences.
Rudy never met a person he couldn’t hold a conversation with. Throughout his racing seasons he was never seen without his best friend, Leland, the two together were pretty much an unstoppable team. Rudy’s race name was “Rudedog”and Leland was “Bad Habit”. Rudy used to say, when people would see them coming they would say, “not them 2”. If you were racing Rudy, he would make you earn your win.
On June 15, 2019, Rudy raced it out the back door.
He leaves behind his loving wife who never left his side, Marva; his daughter, Nina McGee; sons, Aric and Rion Pickett; sisters, Joyce Fife-Richardson , Terrie Jones, Teresa Fife, Julie Linzsey, Melinda Fife; brother, Marshall Fife; best friend and honorary brother, Leland Sykes; grandchildren, Rajana Pickett, Ashia Perkins, Rion Pickett, jr, Maximus Pickett, and Taviahs Rose.
Rudy favorite saying was “I’m gonna run it out the back door” and he did just that. He fought the good fight.
