RUDOLPH JAMES ROSENQUIST, 78, Deming resident passed away Saturday June 18, 2016 at Advanced Care Hospital in Las Cruces.

Rudolph was born May 17, 1938 in Duluth, Minnesota to Alice Mattson and Carl Rosenquist. He was a Deming resident for the past 10 1/2 years coming from Bloomington, Minnesota and a member of the First United Methodist Church. Rudolph was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War where he was a Battalion surgeon and was awarded the Bronze Star.

He was an internal medicine physician for 35 years in Bloomington, Minnesota . His memberships included the Sherman Foundation for four years, the Rock and Mineral Society and Archeological Society of the Southwest. He founded the charity “Friends of Palomas” and volunteered for the State of New Mexico for Patient Health Care Advocate; he was also an actor for “The Luna Players”.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie of the home; 2 sons, Karl Rosenquist and his wife Martha of Shoreview, Minnesota, David Sylvers and wife Gabriela of Cabosan, Lucas, Mexico; 5 daughters, Kjersten Swanson and husband Will of Cologne, Minnesota, Susan Gonsewski and husband Mark of Eufaula, Alabama, Marianne Stroud and husband Todd of Akron, Ohio, Laura Sanden and husband Mark of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Michele Blanco of Deming and 23 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Alice Rosenquist, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
