Ruby Sparrow Hammond, age 81, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2021 at her home in Newnan surrounded by her family. She was born on January 20, 1940 in Fulton County, GA to the late Harold Lester Sparrow and Mattie Louise Dobbs.
Along with her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, Searcy N. Hammond; grandson, Harold Ray Hammond, Jr and siblings, Camelia Coffey and Donald Sparrow.
She is survived by her children, Michael Hammond and his wife Vickie, Ray Hammond and his wife Missy and Bubba Hammond and his wife Shannon. She is also survived by grandchildren, Amanda Harris (Justin Martin), Christopher Hammond (Jessica Faith), Michael Hammond (Breanna), Meagan Mooney (Jonathan), Nick Norton (Teresa), Chad Norton (Amber), Kayleigh Hammond, Kristian Flynn (Jeff), 16 great grandchildren and her sister, Patsy Barbaree.
