Ruby Virginia (McBee) Hartley, age 90, of RR 3 Box 216, Grafton Road, passed away Saturday, March 24, 2012, in Washington, PA. She was born February 25, 1922, in Monongalia County, a daughter of the late Wallace Ray McBee and Edna May (Pointer) McBee.

Ruby married the late Andrew Jackson Hartley July 26, 1938, he preceded her in death September 16, 1997. Ruby and Andrew raised thirteen children, she was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed gardening, and country and gospel music. She most enjoyed spending time with her family and laughing and joking with her grandchildren who loved to tease her. Ruby also worked as a housekeeper for many Taylor County families. She was a Baptist by faith.

Surviving are: three sons, Andrew Russell Hartley, of Illinois, Paul Edward Hartley and wife Naomi, of Pursglove, WV; and Dannie Ray Hartley, of Grafton; seven daughters, Margie May Curry and James, of Gerard, OH, Delores Jean Luzadder and husband Earl, of Grafton, Patricia Ann Williams, of Grafton, Rosemary Lee Weber, of Grafton, Betty Jean Freeland and husband Roger, of Grafton, Linda Lou Grow, of Grafton, and Crystal McBee, of Philippi; 28 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren, one brother, Doral Ray McBee, of Morgantown; one sister, Connie Diaz and husband Junior, of Morgantown; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by: one son, Ronnie Lee “Buck” Hartley; two daughters, Alberta Hartley, and Lillian Gail Hartley; one grandson, Richard Allan Hartley; six sisters, Martha Rosier; Pauline Taylor; Opal Holmes; Lottie Mae Hixenbaugh, June McBee, and Evelyn Grace McBee; three brothers, Stanley Gay McBee, Howard William McBee, and Glenn McBee.

The Hartley family would like to thank Alberta, Curtis and Sherry Perry, and all their relatives and friends, for the love and care expressed during the Ruby’s illness. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
