Ruby Sumner Cope, 82, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009 at her home after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband Fred T. Cope, Jr. and daughter, Jane Cope Abercrombie. She was born August 5, 1926 to the late Hugh and Janie Davis Sumner in Scottsboro, AL. Mrs. Cope moved to Chattanooga after graduating from high school. After moving to Chattanooga, she met and married her husband, Fred. They were married 52 years before his passing in 1998.
