DURHAM- Mrs. Ruby Russ Oakley, 73, passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2020.
Mrs. Oakley was born on September 9, 1947 to Isham and Eula Russ in Johnston County, NC. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church for over 50 years. Ruby enjoyed listening to Gospel music, but her favorite singer was Elvis. Ruby will be lovingly remembered by all who were blessed to have known her.
Mrs. Oakley was preceded in death by her parents, Isham and Eula Russ; her husband, Clifford Oakley, Jr.; brothers, Robert Russ, Sr., and Wayne Russ; and sister, Shirley Parnell.
Mrs. Oakley is survived by her brothers, David (Phyllis), Dwayne, and Bennie Russ (Laurie); her sister, Esther Hunt; several nieces, nephews; and her special friend, Patricia Ortiz.
