Ruby McCurry 89, of Fort Oglethorpe went home to be with the Lord Thursday July 28, 2016 in a local healthcare facility. She was born in Cullman Alabama on September 9, 1926 a daughter of the late Samuel and Allie Roberts Tapley.
Ruby attended Dalton Nursing School where she became an LPN. Mrs. McCurry had worked with Hutcheson Medical Center, Parkridge Hopsital and Superior Home Healthcare.
Survivors are sons Randall ( Sandra) McCurry of Snellville, Ga; Ken ( Faye ) McCurry of LaFayette; daughter Denise Nichols of Rossville; brother Roy Tapley of Fort Oglethorpe; sisters Ella Ruth Cooper of Ringgold and Gloria Rawlston of Ringgold.
Ruby finished raising her brothers five children Henry Tapley, Joyce Tapley, Brenda Overturf, Denny Tapley and Steve Tapley. 17 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews
