Ruby Marie Eblen

Ruby Eblen passed away on February 22, 2009 in Destin, FL. at the age of 94. Her loving son Everett was by her side. Ruby was born December 24, 1914 to Joseph and Mary Colquitt in Sweetwater, TN. She was one of seven children. Ruby was preceded in death by her daughter Reba Jo Smith. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Everett & Janet Eblen of Ft. Walton Beach, FL., three grandsons and six great-grandchildren: Jay Smith of Ten Mile, TN. and his daughter Jaylyn; Dale & Aimee Eblen of Atlanta, GA. and their children Alyssa, Collin and Cameron; and Shawn and Denise Eblen of Columbia, MD. and their children Rory and Darcy. Ruby is also survived by one sister, Huttie Bledsoe of Sweetwater, TN. and numerous nieces and nephews whom she cherished. Ruby’s quick wit and great sense of humor will be remembered fondly. She was a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a proud great-grandmother.
Ruby’s family wishes to thank all of her dedicated doctors, nurses and CNAs at the Destin Healthcare Center in Destin, FL., where she spent the last nineteen months of her life.
