Ruby Lucille (Kuffner) Goff went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, October 11, 2011. She passed away at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington KY after a brief illness. She left this life as she lived it, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born February 10, 1920, in Clarksburg, the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Blackwell Kuffner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Dale Barr Goff, her husband of fifty years; brothers Herman, Fred, and Harlen Kuffner and sister Helen.
She is survived by one sister, Mary Carpenter of Sandusky, OH, sons, Roger and Fred Goff (Janice), both of Clarksburg, Daughters, Nancy Garten, Paula Goff, Sue Goff, Sharon Caron (Brad), all of Lexington, KY., nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Ruby spent most of her life in Clarksburg, where she attended Roosevelt-Wilson High School, was a member of Hammond Methodist Church, and proudly raised six wonderful children.
Ruby stayed active and engaged until very near the end of her life. She was an avid reader, crossword aficionado, animal lover, and gentle matriarch to her entire family. She will always be remembered for expressing her love through her cooking, particularly her celebrated meatballs that she made on Sunday afternoons and for any special occasion.
