She married Col. Robert J. Ferroli on June 15, 1952, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Boston. He died April 6, 2008.

Surviving are her children, John A. (Irma) Ferroli of Grand Rapids, Mich., Diane (Scott) Bles of Midland, Texas, Laura Jabeck of Wilmington, N.C., Catherine Ferroli of South Bend and Milissa (Dave) Peffley of Granger; seven grandchildren; her brother, William (Beverly) Porter of Rome, N.Y.; sisters-in-law Emily Duserick and Claire Krebaum; brother-in-law William Duserick; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers James and Henry Porter and a sister, Jean Supitkowski.

Ruby was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. “Nana” was proud of her grandchildren and was much loved by them. Ruby’s greatest joy was her family, and her most treasured times were those spent with her family and friends around the table enjoying her home-cooked meals. She was a longtime member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and involved with the Rosary Society and the funeral ministry. She cherished her St. Thomas friendships, especially her prayer group. She worked at Miles Laboratories (Bayer) for many years.
