Mrs. Ruby Harbin Campbell, 93, of Hazel Green, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at her home. She spent her early years living in Huntsville’s Dallas Mill Village where her parents worked in the cotton mill. When she was 15, her family moved to Hazel Green and she attended Walnut Grove School and Hazel Green High School. Ruby and her husband, Raymond became members of Union Grove Baptist Church in 1956 where she sang in the choir for many years, and where Raymond served as a deacon. She operated Harbin & Campbell Store along with her family for a number of years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, and loved to cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Campbell., her father and mother, Thomas & Willie Harbin, by her sister, Betty Jean Harbin, and by her brother, Harold Harbin.
Surviving family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Patsy & Dan Poole, her brother, Billy D. Harbin, her two grandchildren, Danny Poole and Stacie Vengrouskie, and four great-grandchildren: Paige, Lauren, Rhett, and Gage.
The family would like to thank Encompass Hospice and nurse, Allison, for the excellent care that they provided, along with caregivers, Barbara Garces and Shirley Jones.
