Ruby Grace Powell, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021 in Eagle River, Alaska at the age of 89. Ruby was born on January 31, 1932 in Buffalo, Oklahoma to William H and Gracie (Mayabb) Blake. She grew up and graduated from high school in Smithville, OK.
Ruby and Robert Powell were united in marriage. The couple were ranchers in Malin OK until 1972 when they moved to Alaska. Ruby worked in Anchorage for the Tudor Baptist Church and later retired from the telephone Company.
Ruby’s family said she was an amazing person who was loved and will be greatly missed. She will be remembered for her love of gardening, quilting and most of all she enjoyed long walks in nature.
She is survived by her son Gerald (Mary)Powell, , Daughter Tonya R (David) LaMothe. Brother Lester (Phyllis) Blake of Watson, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Robert, parents William and Gracie Blake, brothers Charles and Lew and sister Mary Lou.
