Ruby E. Brown, 92 of Rensselaer passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at St. Elizabeth East, Lafayette, Indiana. Ruby had lived in Rensselaer since 1953, also having lived in Pulaski County 15 years and in White County 8 years. She was born July 9, 1921 in Iroquois County, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Smith) Hilton. Ruby graduated with the Class of 1939 from Medaryville High School.

She was a member of the First Christian Church of Rensselaer where she was a former Sunday school teacher and member of Lydia’s Circle of C.W.F. Ruby was a member of the Jasper County Hospital Auxiliary and had been a local Boy Scout leader for several years. On April 25, 1942 in Valparaiso, Indiana Ruby married Glen Morris Brown who passed away September 23, 1983. Ruby was a homemaker and for 15 years was a sales clerk at Smith Farm Store in Rensselaer.

Surviving are her loving daughters, Marlene (Ronald) Lashbrook, West Lafayette, Ind., and Linda (James) Collins, South Bend, Ind., daughter-in-law Beverly Brown, Plymouth, Ind., 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mary Pavell, Monticello, Ind. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glen, a son, Glen Brown, Jr., one grandson, one great-granddaughter, three sisters and two brothers.
