She was born in a small town called Bunny Crossroad, Alabama to her parents, Maggie D. (Ford-Tills) Knight and Bishop Adolphus D. Knight. Mrs. Ruby Dolores Johnson was united in marriage to Hiliria Johnson on October 16, 1958 in Beaumont, Texas. They moved to California in 1960 where they continued to grow their family of 6 children, Bruce Johnson, Hiliria Johnson, Berlinda Johnson, Steven Johnson, Jannie Johnson, John Johnson Her husband worked to provide for the family which allowed Mother Johnson to be a stay-at-home mom to their children.
She put her blessed hands to work with an enjoyment of cooking, sewing, and baking. She was never afraid to use her hands, time and energy to get the job done. She encouraged others with her uplifting spirit. As a woman with a charitable heart, she was willing to give her last dollar to the next person who needed it. Those that had the opportunity to meet Mother Ruby Johnson found she was an amazing soul to have known. She consistently made herself available for a shoulder to cry on, a laugh to have, or just to have a smile brought to your face. Mrs. Ruby Johnson’s compassion, love and contagious smile made her the one to do just that for you.
Mother Ruby Johnson departed this earthly dwelling place on July 21, 2022. She leaves a legacy to cherish precious memories, her 6 children, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
