Roy Richard Hayes, Jr., age 75, of Sharpsburg passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at his home. He was born in Newnan on July, 23, 1945 to the late Richard Roy Hayes, Sr. and the late Mary Allene Thomas Hayes Ayers. He attended Newnan High School and continued on to join the U.S. Army in August of 1963. He later went on to work and retire for Racetrac Petroleum as a Reset Coordinator building new Racetrac Gas Stations.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Stewart Hayes and his brother in law, Billy Binion and grandson, Glenn Looper. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Joan Hayes; children, Cary (Heather) Hayes, Angela Holmes, Pamela Hayes, Ricky (Kelley) Hayes, Angelia Looper, Sharon (Scott) Ingram, and Stephen (Suzanne) Richardson; a sister, Yvonne Binion; 18 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren along with numerous other family members and friends.
