Roy Lee King, 78, of Alamogordo New Mexico passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family.
Roy was born in Hereford, Texas on January 17, 1944. Him and his family moved to Lompoc, California at the age of 11. His love for fast cars started as a teenager when he began working at the family service station. He then married the love of his life, Viola J. Martinez on December 16, 1964. After, he started his career as a plant operator for Grefco, where he retired 22 years later.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar C. and Ola M. King; his siblings, William E. King, Jimmy R. King, Oscar C. King Jr., Robert E. King, and Ruby D. Rowan; his in-laws, Alfonso E. and Eumelia T. Martinez, Corrine Garcia and Toni Rivera.
His life will be cherished by his surviving family, his soul mate, Viola J. King; his siblings, Wanda N. Murphy, Clarence H. King, and Ola M. Cukr; his two daughters, Eileen (Shelley) M. King and Kimberly A. King; his son-in-laws, Jerry L. Anderson and Anthony J. Sanchez; his five grandchildren, Kellen L. Anderson, Marissa M. Anderson, Johnathan L. Sanchez, Jennie J. Ortega, and Alyssa N. Sanchez; his five great grandchildren, Nicole O. Sanchez, Brooklyn R. Ortega, Zayne L. Anderson, Asher C. Ortega, and Lennox L. Anderson. Survivors also include his sisters-in-law, Polly M. Romero (Phillip), Frances M. Alvarado (Frank), Darlene C. Tidwell (Aaron); many special nieces and nephews; as well as his beloved fur baby, Shadow.
