Roy Lee Fitzgerald, 90, of Wilmington, OH passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2022.

He was born April 30, 1931, in Naomi, KY, to the late Clarence and Zillie (Norfleet) Fitzgerald.

He attended a one room school in Nancy, Kentucky.  His family moved to Fowler Indiana in 1947.  He met his sweetheart in Fowler, June Marie Robbins.  They were married September 21, 1952. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2008.  Roy joined the Air Force in 1951 and proudly served for 4 years.  Roy worked at ALCOA as a crane operator in Lafayette for 42 years.  After retiring, he dedicated 20 plus years to the Delta Gamma Sorority at Purdue as a handyman.  He loved building things and especially loved his gardening.  He always had a dog by his side.

He is survived by a sister, Ina (Carl) Hall of Rockville, a brother, Rev. Dr. Paul (Suzanne) Fitzgerald of Olathe KS. His children, Sheryl (Greg) Cox of Wilmington, OH and Kenneth (Nanette) Fitzgerald of Lebanon. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, Jeremiah (Amanda) Cox of Columbus, OH, Lauren Spencer of Wilmington, OH, Angela (Terry) Adams of Branson, MO, Alicia Nevins of Brownsburg, Paige Thompson and Douglas Thompson both of Indianapolis as well as 9 greatgrandchildren and 13 great greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Cora and Grace Fitzgerald and brother Charles (Maria) Fitzgerald of Indianapolis.
