Roy Lee Christopher, 80, of Statesville passed away on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
He was born on September 9, 1932 in Statesville to the late Roy R. and Beulah Welborn Christopher.
Roy served our country honorably as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, serving from 1952 – 1956. At the time of his wife Peggy’s death, they had been married for 60 years.
He is survived by his sons, Mike (Pam) Christopher of Union Grove and Jeff Christopher of Statesville; daughter, Tonya (Jeff) Carson of Stony Point; sister, Barbara (Pete) Honeycutt of Troutman; four grandchildren, Jeremiah (Christina) Christopher of Statesville, Robbie Kay (Josh) Taylor of Olin, Adam (Jessica) Christopher and Cody Christopher (fiancé, Kathy McGown), all of Statesville; and four great grandchildren, Eli, Leo, Macey and Miley Christopher.
