Roy L. Loyd, 83, Anderson, died March 28, 2003 at Community Hospital, Anderson after an extended illness. He was born June 5, 1919 in Henderson, North Carolina, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. He lived in this area most of his life. He retired in 1975 from Delco Remy Division of General Motors after 33 years. He served his country in the US Army during WWII. He was a member of Pendleton American Legion, Delco Remy Softball League and the UAW #662. He is survived by his Wife of 43 years: Betty Bunch Loyd. Five Children: Beverly Slayton of Elwood. Michael D. & wife Dena Loyd of Anderson. Rita S. & husband John Wilson of Daleville. Roy A. Jeffers of Anderson. Barry K. Danforth of Anderson. Mother-in-law: Merle E. Etchison. Sister: Nannie & husband Fred Autry of Lewisberg, North Carolina. Grandchildren: Marc Slayton, Terri & husband Mike Austin, Tracie Ichter, Jacinda Taylor, Rhiannon Loyd, Charles R. Loyd II & wife Connie, Richard M. Loyd, Marissa Mamzza, Daniel S. Butler, Tracie D. & husband Steve Ellis, Brian Danforth, Joe Danforth, Daniel Morrison, Veronica Espinsoa and Lisa R. Wilson. Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. He was preceded by two Children: Charles R. Loyd and Richard L. Loyd.
