Roy Glenn Witherow, 59, of Flagstaff, passed away on March 21, 2013, at home after his long but courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 18, 1953, in Arlington, Virginia to the late Robert and Judy Witherow.
Roy was a proud Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. After school, he joined the United States Air Force as an officer where he retired as a Captain and worked as an Anesthetist.
He was an Associate Professor at the University of Texas before moving to Flagstaff in 1995. While in Flagstaff he served on the City Council for 2 ½ years. Serving on the Disability Awareness and handicap Parking Commission.
Roy loved living in Flagstaff and the many outdoor activities that come with the area, hiking, fishing, yard work, and woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years Diana, and children Sean Hayes, Tim Witherow, Scott Witherow, Tina Witherow, and Jason Witherow. He is also survived by his siblings Syliva Matson, Vickie Gold, Wayne Witherow, and Rene Witherow.
