Roy F. Guste, Sr. Mr. Guste was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1923. He was the husband of Beverly Taylor Guste, the son of Marie Louise Alciatore Guste and William J. Guste, both of whom predeceased him, the brother of William J. Guste, Jr., the late Monsignor Robert I. Guste and Father (Placid) Jules Guste, founder of the Society of Our Mother of Peace. He was a gradute of Our Lady of Lourdes Parochial School and a graduate of Jesuit High School and Loyola University with a BA and LLB (J.D.) degrees. He served with honor in the U.S. Navy in World War II in America, the Pacific and Asiatic Theatres. Mr. Guste was married to Beverly Clare Taylor in 1948; seven children were born of the marriage. He was Past President of the Young Men’s Business Club of New Orleans, St. Elizabeth’s Advisory Board, Parents’ Club of Jesuit High School, Parents’ LLVB of Sacred Heart Academy, Law Alumni of Loyola University, Human Relations Commission of the Archdiocese of New Orleans and President’s Council of Loyola University. He also served as Trustee of Loyola University, as a longtime member of the Sons of Maria Immaculata, a support group for the Cenacle Retreat House, of which he was an Advisory Board member. Mr. Guste was the protector and advocate of the Congress of the Sisters of the Holy Family.
