In 1971, Roy became the founder of ‘H & H’ Heating, a successful business that he later passed on to family. Roy opened a pawn shop (Kim’s Pawn), another family endeavor. Roy loved to purchase, design and remodel homes. He involved his children in this enterprise as well.
He was a frequent presence at the Caldwell and Boise auctions, where he never missed a bargain! His hobby was ‘dickering’. It was all about the price. His parting question was always, “is that the best you can do on that?” he usually walked away with his prize! Roy had a great sense of humor. One of his favorite tricks was to startle people with a loud ‘snort’, at an unexpected moment …… especially his wife, Bennye, and the nurses that cared for him. His love for his children, grandchildren and greats, was immeasureable.
Roy is survived by his wife of 62 years, Bennye; son, Lynn & wife, Renae; Jerry & wife, Debbie; Kim & very special friend, Brenda Story; his grandchildren, Sean Hardy & wife, Kassy, Dana Lynn & husband, Nick, Bree Florenzen & husband, Pete and Christie Lynn Hardy. Roy has 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Hazel and Millie, and one brother, Jim Hardy.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Doyle and Ben and one grandson, Cody Jack Hardy. Roy will be greatly missed and forever loved!
