Roy Edward Kuester, Jr. 68 of Centralia, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015, at his home. He was born March 22, 1947, in Centralia, the son of Roy Kuester, Sr., and Marie Fern (Davis) Kuester.

He married Terri (Brothers) Rogers Kuester on June 15, 2013, at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Centralia and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by a son, Wade Kuester, and wife Amanda of Greenville; a daughter, Julie Wiley, and husband Tony of Centralia; two grandchildren: Jordan Wiley of Centralia and Halyn Audra Kuester of Greenville; several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and a granddaughter, Abigail Grace Kuester. Roy graduated from Centralia High School in 1965.

He attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale in 1966 and in 1968 he graduated from Kaskaskia College with an Associates Degree in Business. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ in Central City and was baptized in 1961. Roy worked as the Regional Manager for Kentucky Fried Chicken for 35 years. Mr. Kuester owned Roy’s Coins in Centralia for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, coin shows, and flea markets. He was an avid collector of coins, steins, and piggy banks. He was the Past President of numerous coin clubs and was the Past President of the Sweet Corn and Watermelon Festival in Mt. Vernon. Roy also enjoyed going to Car Shows with his Geo Metro Convertible. Most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
