Those left to honor Geno’s memory are his wife, Deserae; daughter, Isabella Long; two sons, Laketon and Drake Long, all of Newton; his mother, Bea O’dell of Kansas City, Missouri; his father, Roy Long of Richmond, Missouri; sister, Kayla Lane of Kansas City; two brothers, Chris Kirkland of Missouri, and Billy Kirkland of Kansas City. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Geno worked several years as a production worker at Realm in Newton.
Geno loved coaching, fishing, hunting, playing basketball, and mushroom hunting.
