Roy Dean Kennedy passed away Wednesday September 11, 2019 at the age of 84 in Anchorage Alaska at the Providence Alaska Medical Center.
Roy was born May 30, 1935 in Eugene Oregon to parents Floyd and Ruth. He had three siblings, David, Marie, and John. Roy spent five years in the Navy before joining the Air Force in 1958. While stationed in Taiwan, Roy married Sue in 1967. After retiring from the Air Force in 1978, Roy moved back home to Oregon. In 1980, he moved his family to Alaska. Roy bought a house in Chugiak and eventually got a job working for the F.A.A., where he worked until 1993. He was stationed and lived in many places including Spain, Taiwan, California, Nebraska, Hawaii, South Dakota, Oregon and Alaska. He was passionate about his lawn and garden, his grandchildren and national politics. He is survived by his three children, seven grandchildren and his brother John Kennedy.
