Roy Clinton Hollis, 92, of Odon, Indiana, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in his home, on Thursday, August 10, 2017. He was born on May 30, 1925 in Otwell, Indiana in Pike County to Orville Owen and Maude (Abbott) Hollis and was raised in the Burr Oak Community. He eloped and married his sweetheart, Dorothy J. (Chamberlain) Hollis on June 11, 1948 in Piggott, Arkansas.
Roy was a US Army WWII veteran, serving his country from 1944-1946. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon and Army Occupation Medal (Japan).
Survivors include: his wife, Dorothy Hollis of Odon; one son, Gary Kent Hollis of Elnora; two daughters, Linda Kaye Stites and Vicki Lynn (Robert Leon) Wise, both of Odon; eleven grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Roy was preceded in death by: his parents; one brother, Paul D. Hollis and son-in-law, Carl W. Stites.
