Roy B. Moore, 88, Kokomo, formerly of Huntington, died at 8:20 p.m. Monday, December 13, 2010 at Waterford Place Health Campus, Kokomo, IN. He was born February 7, 1922 in Jefferson City, TN, the son of Samuel and Martha Moore. He was the youngest of their three children, all of whom are deceased.

He married Juanita Owens on March 2, 1946 at St. Mary Catholic Church, Huntington, IN, who died just one month prior to his death. Mr. Moore graduated from Big Creek High School in Berwind, West Virginia. After High School, he worked for a coal mine in Berwind until he joined the Armed Forces. He served from July, 1942 until November, 1945 while stationed in Iran. Roy and his wife were active in their home parish and belonged to several organizations in the parish. He was an engineer on the Erie Lackawanna Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.

He retired at the age of 60 and began spending many hours on the Norwood Golf Course and traveled to many golf courses around the state with their friends at Norwoods. They moved to Kokomo in 1994 to be closer to family. They became members of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and because of their love of golf, found a new group of golfing friends in Kokomo. He had two sons: Dick and wife Margi, Kokomo, and youngest son: Gary and wife Pam, Davenport, Iowa.

He was much loved by seven grandchildren: Tyler Moore and wife Ann, Terri Burke and husband Jeremy, Mindy Dean and husband Danny, Shelly Wood and husband Mike and Mike Moore all of Kokomo; Stacey Morter and husband Josh, and Stephanie Moore, all of Davenport, Iowa. He was affectionately called “”Grandpa M & M”” to all 12 great-grandchildren.
