ROY ALFORD JR.
Roy Alford Jr., age 82, passed away at his home on February 16, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer, with his wife and daughters by his side.
Roy was a lifelong resident of Okaloosa County and loved to hunt and fish. He was a veteran of the Korean War, along with working for 30 years with the Okaloosa County School System, he was a commercial fisherman, who most enjoyed fishing on the Choctawhatchee River.
He is preceded in death by his father Roy Alford Sr., mother Maggie L. Thompson, stepfather Ernie Thompson, grand-mother Lizzie Alford Crawford, son-in-law Ronny Money, brother, David Alford Sr., three infant sons, and great-grand-daughter, Casey Olivia-Dyan Siegel.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 63 years, Emma Jean Alford; three daughters, Clydie Mae Browning (Gary), Delores Jean Money, Helen Pagnini (Rob); brother, Eugene Alford (Betty); stepbrother, Earl Thompson (Ruth); sisters, Ouida Sparkman, Annette Creel, and Edith Sowell; 12 grand-children, 28 great-grand-children, 6 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends.
