Roxcy Olsen Welch passed away on February 8, 2022, in Brigham City, Utah. She was the youngest of nine children born to Rupert Peter and Genevieve Ann Blackburn Olsen on November 9, 1925, in Brigham City.

Roxcy graduated from Box Elder High School in 1943. She met her future husband, Edward parker Welch, at Bushnell Army Hospital in Brigham City where he was stationed with the Army during World War II. They married on November 29, 1945, and had three children. Ed passed away in 1993.

Roxcy worked at Intermountain Inter-Tribal School in Brigham City, serving over 2,000 Navajo students, and later expanding to include other Native American students. She started her career in the employee’s nursery school and then the principal’s secretary. In later years she served as the school superintendent’s secretary. She remained in that position until the school closed in 1984.

Roxcy was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. She was an active member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was on the board of the Box Elder Country Credit Union.

Roxcy is survived by two sons, Michael Edward Welch (Zinda), and David Brian Welch (Agnes), daughter Dorothy Welch Williams, ten grandchildren, and twenty-one great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her spouse, Edward Parker Welch, parents, sisters (Lottie, Ruth, Mary, Mae, and Edith), brothers (Rupert, Claudius, and Thomas), and son-in-law Charles Williams.
