Travis “Rowdy” Pate, age 83, of Yancey, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016. Born in Pearsall, TX on August 25, 1933, he was the son of Irvin Ware and Josie Florence Marian Pate. He married Alice Ladale Payne on August 5, 1960 in Dilley, Texas. Rowdy was a rawhide and horsehair artisan and teller of tall tales. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; daughter, Merrie Beth; sisters, Gene Gewin and Ruth Crabb; and brother, Joseph Pate. Rowdy is survived by daughter, Robin Pate; grandsons, Jake McNeese and Jess Copeland.
