Ross Edwin Bishop passed away on September 6, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM. Ross was the firstborn child of Larry and Kathleen (Asselmeier) Bishop and made his entrance on January 8, 1986 in Des Moines, Iowa and was joined by his sister, Brenna Lyn Bishop in 1987. In 1990 the family moved to New Mexico where Ross started school. During his school years, he was active in baseball, wrestling, Cub Scouts, Young Marines and band. In the fall of 2002, while attending Hobbs High School, Ross filmed the Hobbs Homecoming parade. Ross graduated from Rio Rancho High School in 2004 and he continued his education at CNM (Central New Mexico) in the film program and worked as a production assistant in films and also wrote several scripts. Ross and his sister, Brenna were involved with the United Methodist Church activities early in life and Ross was confirmed as a member in 1999 and was baptized, joining the United Methodist Church. He went on several mission trips with the youth, helping build homes for families. He most recently had become interested in going to the seminary and had taken several religious classes. He enjoyed playing the guitar and helped with the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta activities for many years. Ross was a very loving, caring, outgoing and helpful young man.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Charles Edwin Asselmeier; grandparents: Allen and Annabelle Asselmeier; aunt, Candy Shannon and step-grandfather; John Dailey.
Ross will be missed by his parents, Larry Bishop of Hobbs, NM and Kathy Dailey and husband, Kevin of Rio Rancho, NM along with his sister; Brenna Lyn Bishop of Rio Rancho, NM; stepsister; Nicole Dailey of Homesdale, PA, grandparents; Laurance and Margaret Bishop of Mount Ayr, IA; step-grandmother, Peggy Dailey of NY, Aunts; Gayle Asselmeier of Rio Rancho, NM, step-aunt, Laurie Walsh and husband Ray of North Bellmore, NY, Uncles; Randy and wife Chris, Terry and wife Lori Bishop and their families of Mount Ayr, IA and numerous cousins and a host of friends.
