Ross Edward Langwell, 67, of Galesburg, died Tuesday, December 10, 2019 in Galesburg.

Ross was born November 4, 1952 in Keokuk, IA the son of Glenn Edward and Alma Martina (McDermott) Langwell. He married Denise Holman. He later married Kathryn Engstrom. She preceded him in death on September 11, 2008.

Ross is survived by one son, Matthew (Sheena McCoy) Langwell of Galesburg; one daughter, Stacy (Demone) McClendon of Galesburg; and six grandchildren, Karter McClendon, Sydny and Peighton Langwell, Dylan Resa, and Brooke and JoLene Morris.

He is also survived by three sisters, Patricia Day, Elizabeth Haist, and Alma Evans all of Keokuk, IA. Along with his wife and parents, Ross was preceded in death by one sister, Verdna.

Ross worked at Butler Mfg. in Galesburg, retiring after 30 years of service. During his years at Butler, Ross was an active member of United Steel Workers of America, Local 685. In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and farming.

Ross was also an avid bowler, having spent over 20 years in different bowling leagues. Ross was a giving person, always willing to lend a hand when asked. He spent countless hours with his grandchildren sharing stories and taking them on adventures. You could often find Ross at different gas stations scratching lottery tickets. He was the best dog sitter and could befriend any dog he met.
